Welcome to the Live Coding Research Network. We are just starting up, but please see below for the network events planned so far, as well as other related live coding events. More to follow, including a symposium on live coding education, and an international conference in 2015.

Network symposium: Kick-off day @ Centre for Creative Collabroation
Mar 21 @ 11:00 am – 5:00 pm

An introductory, cross-disciplinary kick-off day, with the aim to provide rich context for live coding research and feed into the next two years of network activity. In the morning we will have talks by Emma Cocker (Senior Lecturer in Fine Art, Nottingham Trent University), Nick Collins (Reader in Composition, University of Durham) and Alexandra Cardenas (University of the Arts, Berlin). We will then enjoy a remote performance by Andrew Sorensen, and then a series of 10 minute presentations followed by group discussion. More details soon. Booking is essential, sign up here.

Network Symposium: Live Coding and the Body @ Creativity Zone @ University of Sussex
Jul 4 @ 6:00 pm – Jul 6 @ 1:00 pm

The Live Coding and the Body Symposium will be held in the Creativity Zone at the University of Sussex, preceded by an “algorave” club night of dynamic live coding performances, at The Loft in Brighton. Full details here.

Network symposium: Live coding and collaboration @ University of Birmingham
Sep 25 – Sep 26 all-day

Details and timing to be confirmed. The first day might be a doctoral event. This symposium will be in collaboration and crossover with the Network Music Festival, which will run over the following weekend 26-28th September 2014, and which will also include live coding activities.
